Louisa Ulrika, born in Berlin in 1720, was a Princess of Prussia from the House of Hohenzollern. She became Queen Consort of Sweden through her marriage to King Adolf Frederick. Her reign saw her engage actively in Swedish political and cultural life, fostering the arts and sciences. A woman of considerable intellect and strong will, she was a prominent figure in the Swedish court during the Age of Liberty.
