Their story
Andrew Stewart, of the House of Stuart, was born in the Kingdom of Scotland in 1442. His life was marked by his ascension to multiple prominent titles. He became Duke of York, then monarch of Scotland. Later in his reign, through complex dynastic circumstances, he also acceded to the thrones of England and Ireland, thus holding the extraordinary position of monarch over all three realms. Andrew Stewart's lengthy rule as a significant figure in 15th-century Britain concluded with his death in Moray in 1501.
