Louis III, Elector Palatine, born January 31, 1378, in the Electoral Palatinate, was a significant figure of the House of Wittelsbach. As Elector Palatine and Duke of Bavaria, he guided his territories during a period of transition and consolidation in the Holy Roman Empire. His reign, spanning over two decades, was marked by efforts to maintain stability and pursue the interests of his family line within the complex political landscape of the 15th century. He was also a participant in broader European affairs, including his involvement in the Council of Constance. Louis III passed away in Heidelberg on January 8, 1437.
