Elizabeth of Austria, born in Linz in 1526, held the esteemed title of Consort of Poland. Her life, though brief, linked the powerful Habsburg and Jagiellonian dynasties. As the first wife of King Sigismund II Augustus, she became Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania. Her union, intended to strengthen political alliances, placed her at the heart of European royal courts. Elizabeth passed away in Vilnius in 1545, leaving a legacy as a figure central to the dynastic politics of her era.
