Their story

Louise Élisabeth d'Orléans, born in Paris on December 9, 1709, was a member of the House of Bourbon. Through her marriage, she became the Queen Consort of Spain. Her life was characterized by a significant dynastic union that linked the French and Spanish branches of the Bourbon family. She held the titles of Monarch of Lower Navarre and Queen of France by virtue of her husband’s eventual ascension, and also served as French Co-Prince of Andorra and Count of Foix. Louise Élisabeth returned to Paris, where she died on June 16, 1742, marking the end of a life intricately woven into the fabric of European royalty during the early 18th century.
