John II, Duke of Bourbon, born September 8, 1426, was a prominent figure of the French aristocracy. As head of the House of Bourbon, he inherited extensive lands and influence. His lifetime saw him hold numerous significant titles, including Duke of Bourbon. He was also, at different times, recognized as Monarch of Lower Navarre and French Co-prince of Andorra. For a brief period, he bore the title King of France, a testament to his high standing and connections within the Capetian dynasty. John II's life concluded on April 10, 1488, in the castle of the dukes of Bourbon, his ancestral seat.
