Their story

Charles II, Duke of Bourbon, was born in Moulins on January 1, 1434. A prominent member of the House of Bourbon, he inherited significant noble titles. His ecclesiastical career saw him rise to Archbishop of Lyon and eventually Cardinal. Though Duke of Bourbon for only a brief period, his influence extended through his roles as a French co-prince of Andorra and Count of Foix. While he held titles such as Monarch of Lower Navarre and king of France, these were largely titular or aspirational during a period of complex political maneuvering. He died in Lyon on September 22, 1488.
