Albert II of Habsburg, born in Vienna in 1298, was a significant figure in the Austrian ducal house. Though initially destined for an ecclesiastical career, holding the title of bishop-elect, he ultimately did not take holy orders. He later inherited ducal lands, becoming Landgrave of Alsace. His reign was marked by efforts to consolidate Habsburg power and navigate the complex political landscape of the Holy Roman Empire. Albert's legacy includes strengthening the family's territorial holdings and laying groundwork for future Habsburg influence. He passed away in Vienna in 1358.
