Cosimo III de' Medici, born in Florence on August 14, 1642, was a prominent figure of the House of Medici. He ascended to the title of Grand Duke of Tuscany, a position he held for over five decades. Prior to his grand ducal reign, he served as Governor of Siena, gaining early administrative experience. His long tenure as Grand Duke encompassed a period of significant political and cultural shifts within Europe.
