Clemens August of Bavaria, born in the Brussels metropolitan area on August 17, 1700, was a prominent member of the House of Wittelsbach. His life was defined by his ecclesiastical and secular leadership, ascending to significant roles within the Holy Roman Empire. As an archbishop-elector, he wielded considerable influence, governing territories such as Cologne, Münster, and Paderborn. He also held the title of Duke of Bavaria, a reflection of his familial lineage. He passed away on February 6, 1761, at the Kurfürstliche Residenz in Ehrenbreitstein.
