Peter I, known as Peter the Great, was born in Moscow on June 9, 1672. A member of the House of Romanov, he ascended to the throne as Tsar of All Russia. His reign was marked by profound reforms aimed at modernizing the Russian state and society. Through extensive travels and the establishment of a powerful navy, he transformed Russia into a major European power. He later adopted the title Emperor of All the Russias. Peter the Great passed away in Saint Petersburg on February 8, 1725, leaving a lasting legacy on the development of the Russian Empire.
